Welcome

VOTING Black in the electorate of Grey in the upcoming federal election is to vote for Black issues for Aboriginal people and communities.

John Howard says that Aboriginal communities are in a "state of national emergency". Aboriginal people have known this and made calls about this since before Federation.

The best way to make sure that the "national emergency" has quality outcomes and does not get out of control in the electorate of Grey is to show the politicians that the Black vote counts.

VotingBIG is your way to do this.

An independent Federal member for Grey is the best way to keep the Coalition or Labor Federal Government honest in their relationship with Aboriginal Australians as well as the non-Aboriginal voters of Grey.

The Aboriginal issues that have not been properly addressed since the 1967 referendum are: SOVEREIGNTY, NATIVE TITLE, ABORIGINAL HEALTH, EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION AND HOUSING.

Mr. Howard is now showing that it is possible to address all these issues, but his mutual obligation clause includes the loss of Native Title and the "absorption" of the Aboriginal people into the mainstream. This is another form of assimilation - the failed approach used before the 1967 referendum.

VotingBIG says Sovereignty, Treaties and Native Title are essential.

Historically, every time they are addressed, the relevant government buckles to the conservative nature of their white constituencies. The Minister for Indigenous Affairs Mr. Brough has said, "there are no votes in Aboriginal matters".

Tell Mr. Brough he is wrong. VotingBIG is the way to do it!
